District Information
The current Anna Local School District was formed in 1956 following the consolidation of the Anna, McCartyville, and Kettlersville School Districts. Our primarily rural School District contains stable families with traditional values and covers 70 square miles in all or parts of 6 townships entirely within Shelby County in west-central Ohio.
Evidence of community support includes the passing on the first attempt of all four tax levies requested since 2001 and energetic and motivated volunteer organizations focused on arts, academics, and athletics. The Anna Education Foundation - our nonprofit 501(3) organization - regularly awards over $80,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors.
Anna Local Schools prides itself on running efficiently and maintaining healthy fund balances while providing an excellent educational experience for our students. Residents of the District enjoy tax rates that are among the lowest in the area and our hard-working, highly professional, and competent staff is compensated well above average for the area.
In addition to having outstanding college prep and general courses of study, AHS is affiliated with the Upper Valley Career Center for vocational services, the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center for educational services, Rhodes State College and Edison State for College Credit Plus, and have post-secondary relationships with Rhodes State College, Edison State University, Sinclair College, The Ohio State University, Cedarville College, and Wright State University.
A one to one program allows for all students in grades 1-12 to be assigned their own Chromebook to complete academic work.
A full complement of extracurricular activities is available to students with athletic teams competing in the Shelby County Athletic League and the Midwest Athletic Conference for Football.
The district recently completed a $20,000,000 buildings and grounds renovation project.
